Leigh and Kjell said "I do" at the ever so beautiful Sharks Tooth Country Club located in Lake Powell, Florida, on October 22nd. It has been way too long since we have blogged some of our beautiful events and I can't wait to share Erika and Bernardo's amazing Alys Beach Wedding. Erika's family has a beach home in Seagrove so it was natural for her to say her "I Do's" along 30-a and Erika knew immediately she wanted to have her reception on the Gulf Green @ Alys Beach. Scott Wedgeworth Designs did an amazing job designing all of her decor. Bernardo is a singer/songwriter and his guitar groom's cake looked almost too good to eat! Amy and Jared were perhaps one of the most fun couples we have ever worked with. Their energetic spirit is truly infectious and they had the most lively group of wedding guests we have seen in a long time. We really enjoyed watching their own personal glow stick show mid-reception and when the official party ended at 10:00, it was obvious that they were hanging out much longer than we anticipated! Anna's Veranda was the site of Erin and Drew's beautiful Southern Garden themed wedding last fall. They were such a joy to work with and Erin incorporated so many personal details to her big day. A self proclaimed Sweet Addict, Erin incorporated cookies, cupcakes, and wedding cake into their desserts. We used sugar cookies as escort cards, a large "M" for Ole Miss along with cupcakes for the groom's cake, and a beautifully designed 4 tiered bridal cake! Celestine's Weddings did an amazing job with Erin's event design along with catering a delicious Southern meal fit for a debutante. Thanks to everyone else who worked the event and congrats to Erin and Drew. We had a blast!

Paula and Cody traveled to Destin from one of our fave cities, New Orleans, to exchange their nuptials at the Hilton Sandestin. Paula's main color was chocolate with just a splash of pink. We transformed the deck into an elegant reception lounge with 3 separate lounge vignettes, two amazing cakes and the best DJ our Emerald Coast has to offer. People were dancing to Paula's tunes from their balconies all night long. Congrats Paula, Cody and little Caroline! We loved working with you :)

When Katy and Shawn initially booked us to plan their November wedding, they were set on having their event in Destin but, the BP oil spill scare had them move their wedding back to their home town of Atlanta. I was honored when they asked me to continue planning their event! Katy and Shawn said "I do" at Katy's childhood church and held their elegant reception at the Atlanta National Golf Club. I so enjoyed assisting Heather in coordinating her unique farm wedding last October. The couple's friends hosted the event @ their family farm just outside of DeFuniak Springs. Heather had such fun ideas for the decor! Guests sat on Muslin covered hay bales for the ceremony and lounge areas were also created out of hay bale groupings. The reception took place in a barn where guests dined at the largest table I have ever decorated! No southern wedding is complete without an armadillo groom's cake! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE coordinating beach weddings but it was amazing executing my first Farm Wedding. Thanks to Paul & Mecheal Johnson for the beautiful photos! Shelly & Don were married in March at the always beautiful Rosemary Beach. They exchanged vows in the Town Hall and then guests were treated to cocktail hour on the Town Hall green then ushered to the Western Green where they dined on a fabulous seated dinner and danced the night away. The eggplant pashminas they gave to all of the female guests came in quite handy as it got quite cool towards the end of the festivities! Check ou the groom's cake! Don's fave food is Hooters buffalo wings and yes, the picture of the wings is actually a CAKE! All of the guests kept trying to pick up the "wings" and eat them! The draping on Shelly's bridal cake mimicked the draping details in her gown to a "T." Eye Wander Photo from Baton Rouge, LA, did an amazing job on all the photos. It was a pleasure working with all of my vendors (as always!) Thanks for all that you do!

Amber and Steven traveled all the way from Kansas to exchange their nuptials on the beautiful beaches of the Emerald Coast. They chose the well known Santa Rosa Beach Club as their venue. Bright orange and pink lanterns adorned the entire terrace and set the stage for the festivities to follow. Their bridal party was such fun and all of the guests were really surprised when everyone recessed from the ceremony to "Sign, Sealed, Delivered" by Stevie Wonder. Sheva and Eric tied the knot last May in Santa Rosa Beach. They held their reception at the expansive and beautiful Forest Lake Lawn. The boat dock at the lawn makes for the most romantic lounge area and the entire neighborhood is so serene. Sheva and Eric knew they wanted to have an open air reception adorned with bistro lighting and paper lanterns. Luckily, the weather cooperated and their site glittered with the cafe lights and stars above. A lot of children were attending the wedding so we created an absolutely fabulous kids table for the wee ones to enjoy. I was so excited when Dawn told me that she wanted her 10.10.10 wedding to be in an intimate park setting. Don't get me wrong, I love beach weddings but it is always fun to do something a little different. Dawn and Kane live in Enterprise, AL, so Dawn was able to visit Destin often and was very involved throughout the entire planning process of her event. We chose the Butterfly Lawn at Draper Lake for her ceremony site and the reception followed at the Santa Clara house in Seagrove, FL. I learned so much about Dawn during our conversations. In addition to being a sheriff deputy, she also used to be a snake handler. One never would have thought that she is so tough just by looking at her! Nicole first contacted me in January 2010 to help her plan her intimate wedding set for June 2010. We chose Henderson Beach State Park for the ceremony site followed by a sit down dinner at Marina Cafe, Destin, located on the Destin Harbor. I began working with Jessica last summer on her May 2010 wedding. Jessica has amazing tastes--very clean and simple lines and she incorporated lots of pops of orange in her decor. I love her idea to arrange her bench seating in the round on the beach so that her 120 guests could see the ceremony better. It made for such an intimate setup and the benches looked so cute arranged in such a fashion. All of Jessica's fabulous vendors did an amazing job! Thanks to all who worked the event :)

Henderson Park Inn--Again!

I coordinated a beautiful wedding @ Henderson Park Inn in October for Angie & Vic. They traveled all the way to Destin from Utah to celebrate their nuptials. Angie's kiddos melted my heart and were perhaps two of the sweetest little ones I have ever met. Perfect Day Florals did an amazing job w. the decor and Rhonda w. Confections on the Coast created such a beautiful cake. The rain didn't stop everyone from partying and enjoying each other's company. You could really feel the love between Angie and Vic and their families were such a joy to work with. Thanks to Mecheal and Paul Johnson for the beautiful pictures.

Emerald Grande Wedding--Dec. 19th

I had the priviledge of helping Kendall and Jim coordinate their wedding last weekend at the Emerald Grande in Destin. The ceremony was on the Captain's Deck and the reception was in the Grande Ballroom. Enlightened Events did an amazing job designing all. The neatest thing about Kendall and Jim's wedding was they found out the sex of their baby when they cut their cake! When they went for their ultrasound 2 weeks ago, they had the doctor call Heidi with http://www.bakemydaydestin.com/ and tell her (and only her!) the sex of the baby. Kendall and Jim had no idea. Then, when Heidi baked the cake she planned on making the bottom tier either blue or pink so when they cut into the cake they would see the sex of the baby! Everyone was so excited for that cake to be cut that we moved the cutting of it to immediately after the first dance. Kendall and Jim's reaction was amazing and priceless when they found out they were having a boy. It brought tears to my eyes ;) Such a wonderful way to share such exciting news with everyone they love.

October 18th Wedding at The Lawn

Matt and Meara got married at The Lawn on October 18th. I had such fun planning w. Meara and getting to know both of them. Meara really paid attention to all of the details and picked out the cutest color combinations--navy and bright pink. Very preppy ;) I loved it! It was COLD that weekend so we had to add sides to the tent @ the VERY last minute along w. 2 heaters. The rental companies here are so fabulous! Hannah and E.R. exchanged vows on Friday, 7.17, @ Henderson Park Inn. Twenty-one ppl were in attendance. It was very intimate and romantic. The rain forecast for the day was @ a high of 80% so we opted to erect the rain tent. We didn't end up needing it due to rain but I think it really added a special touch to the decor. The weather did not cooperate w. us on the wedding day so we had to relocate some of the setup inside but it was a beautiful wedding, nonetheless. The intimate wedding was filled with love and all of their friends and family enjoyed celebrating their day together.

I have finally found an office/meeting space in Destin. I am really excited about having a location for clients to meet in. I am sharing the space with http://www.perfectdayweddingflorist.com/. We are working on furnishing it and hope to have it fully stocked in the next month. It is in an excellent, very easy to find, location in Miramar Beach.

I know I haven't posted in ages. 2009 is kicking off tremendously and I am excited about the weddings that we are booking this year. They are going to be fabulous! I am also psyched about the upcoming Beach Bridal Faire that is taking place on "The Lawn" with www.pearlywhiteproperties.com. I have decided to be a vendor @ the show. The Ramada Plaza Resort Hotel hosted C & B's wedding yesterday. After 3 days of raining, it was such a relief to see the sun shining and clear

skies for their big day. I had such a joy working with them and B really put a lot of personal touches into the decor. I especially love the table number candles that her mother made for the guest tables. They were such a unique way to display the table numbers and I just have to steal this idea for future brides :)

Lanier/BJ Wedding

Yesterday Lanier & BJ got married on The Lawn @ Pearly White Properties in Seagrove Beach. They couldn't have ordered a prettier day for an outside wedding. Here are some pics of the pretty event. Instead of having a dance floor we outlined a dancing area using bamboo poles and fabric draping. It was a really nice effect and saved them some $$ (which is always a plus!)

It is such a beautiful Friday here. It is going to be a perfect weekend for a wedding. Lanier & BJ have traveled from Oregon to say their I do's @ Pearly White Properties on Saturday. I will post pics of the event next week.

Just an update, we now have 12 benches available for rent. Here is a reminder picture of what they look like in a ceremony setting.

Also, we went to the grand opening of Nouveau Flowers new location in Destin. It is such a beautiful store! It is located right next to the Emerald Grande in Destin--in the HarbourWalk area. You definitely need to check it out :)

Perfect Day Wedding Florist did a wedding @ Topsail last Saturday with Elegant Beginnings. It was such a beautiful setup for the poolside reception that I just had to share the pictures that Patty with Perfect Day sent me. I LOVE the poolside lounge areas that she created for the guests to enjoy during the reception. It is

such a creative way to ulitize space around the pool. Very cute :)

PC Wedding

We traveled to Panama City this weekend and helped with the most beautiful wedding @ the First United Methodist Church and reception following @ the Harbor Village Condominiums in the St. Andrews Area. The rain early in the a.m. was a bit nerve wracking but it cleared up to become a beautiful evening. Harbor village is located right on the water so we received a really nice breeze coming in off the bay. Unfortunately, I was too busy to snap photos, but Beverly was gorgeous in her gown and the guys were very handsome in their seer sucker pants and navy blazers. It was a truly southern affair! I want to give a special kudos to the Tag Williams Band who drove in from Alabama. They had the crowd dancing the whole night and everyone was disappointed when we had to call it quits due to the quiet time that goes into effect @ 10:00 pm.

Congrats Beverly & Andy....It was a joy!

I am proud to showcase the benches that I now have for rent for wedding ceremonies and/or receptions. They are so cute and very sturdy! Call or email for the rental prices. I think they are totally unique--from what I've seen no one else in the area has something like this for rent. Just had to share some really cute pics of the candy bar that Saira & Haaris had last night @ their wedding reception at the Hilton Sandestin. I thought the colors were really cute and the whole table setup looked adorable. Thanks, Saira and Haaris for letting me share in your special day.

BTW, this was the first event that I have done with a dove release. I was a bit hesitant on it at first but it is really pretty and is a very special, symbolic moment to include in the wedding ceremony. I would recommend it to anyone!

On Monday, I had the pleasure of assisting Brandy & Joe with their event @ the Monet House in Grayton Beach. What a beautiful location! I love the french fountains that adorn the property and the numerous oak trees add so much ambiance to the grounds. You can't ask for a more romantic setting for an outside wedding. Brandy used hundreds of candles to add to the romantic setting. Candles were EVERYWHERE and they really gave off such a soft light. Thanks again to everyone who worked the event. It was beautiful!

That has to be the coolest anniversary--very easy to remember. Elizabeth & Richie are lucky enough to call these numbers their anniversary date. They recently had their nuptials @ Resurrection Catholic Church in Miramar Beach and a reception followed @ Kelly Plantation. I had the honors of experiencing my first candy bar station @ this wedding. Such a cute idea! All of the guests, adults and kids alike, had fun filling their favor bags with m&ms, starbursts, and other sugary treats. Such a cute way to send favors home with your guests and to showcase your sweet tooth. I would recommend them to anyone who has a flare for the sweets.

Sunday, May 18th, was the PERFECT day for an outside wedding @ the Fort Walton Beach Landing. Kimberly & Chevy siad "I do" underneath a magnificent oak tree in the park. Patty with Perfect Day Florals once again did a tremendous job with all of the decor. The reception was held @ the Embassy Suites where guests dined to a delicious sit down dinner.
I have to say this was my first experience with a butterfly release @ the ceremony and it was a very moving site to see the butterflies fluttering around the bride and groom as they made their exit down the aisle. Kudos to all the vendors who made Kimberly & Chevy's day possible:

Giuseppi's Wharf in Niceville, FL, has reopened its doors and hosted a vendor reception last night to introduce local vendors to their catering & special events options. Located right on the bay, the view from the decks is amazing & the simple, modern decor in the restaurant really would lend to a beautiful reception, rehearsal dinner, etc. After sampling their delicious food and looking over sample event menus, I'm sold. I am DEFINITELY adding this location to my vendor list. It was really nice to talk with other local vendors and meet some new people. Networking is always a plus! Thanks so much to Perfect Day Florist, http://www.perfectdayweddingflorist.com/, for inviting me to help with one of their weddings @ Rutherfords in Destin. It was amazingly beautiful! That was the first time that I have been on the floral side of a wedding and it was a great experience to be able to see a wedding from the florist perspective. I saw the absolute cutest tweak to the same ole' mother's corsage. They made actual floral bracelets from orchids for the mother's to wear. They were so unique and looked very comfortable--not awkward and heavy like some corsages tend to look. Loved it!!!

The nasty rain we experienced this weekend didn't stop Lara & Josh from having a fabulous wedding @ the Sunset Beach Club in Bluewater Bay. The location there, btw, is a fabulous place to have a wedding. Very private and it has one amazing view of the bay. The rain cleared just long enough for the couple to say their "I do"s poolside. Everyone seemed to really enjoy the reception, dancing their little hearts out. Thanks to Heart & Soul Catering for including me in on this event. Will post pics soon! I thoroughly enjoyed it :)
